Straits Academy Malaysia coordinated a delegation of OUM dignitaries to India in Dec 2011. The delegation started at Kochi with the signing of an MOA with the Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This followed with two more agreements signed during the visit at Wisdom Business School (Udumalpet) and SJN Matriculation School (Mettupalayam). The climax of the visit was the 1st Awards Ceremony of IPD-OUM held at SSM International Academy, Komarapalayam, India. The ceremony saw the award of Professional Diplomas to 81 candidates who completed their programs in 2011.

The delegation consisted of YBhg Prof Emeritus Tan Sri Dr Anuwar Ali (Vice Chancellor of Open University Malaysia), Tuan Hj Repin Ibrahim (Vice President, Business Development, OUM), Prof Dr Selvaraj Oyyan Pillay (Director, IPD-OUM), Mr Vikaraman Pillai (Managing Director, SAM), Mr Ravindran Raghavan (Director, SAM) and Mr Joseph Thomas (Program Manager, SAM)
